Weight Loss Goals Come in Many Sizes: Find Out if Medical Weight Loss is the Right Option for You

We know losing weight is not as simple as calories in, calories out.

Many factors influence weight including genetics, hormones, metabolism, lifestyle, mental health, and even underlying medical conditions like diabetes, thyroid disease and PCOS. Hormonal changes during menopause for instance, can lead to weight gain especially around the abdomen. These factors can make it difficult to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. That’s where our medical weight loss program comes in.

At Iriya Wellness & Aesthetics our comprehensive medical weight loss program combines monthly doctor visits and prescription weight loss medications with support, healthy eating education, exercise and lifestyle modifications to set the foundation for sustainable weight loss and give you the tools to achieve your healthiest weight.

Our medical weight loss team developed a comprehensive program from our experience treating and guiding patients through medical weight loss during the last decade. We know weight loss goals are successfully achieved when doctor visits and weight loss medication are combined with long-term support and consistent nutrition education and counseling.

Are Prescription Weight Loss Medications Right For Me?

If you’ve struggled with diets in the past and found yourself giving up because you felt deprived, you may be a good candidate for FDA-approved prescription weight loss medications like Zepbound™, WegovyⓇ, SaxendaⓇ and more. These medications are used as a tool to help decrease hunger and cravings in conjunction with nutrition counseling to help you reach and maintain a healthier weight. In addition to a reduced-calorie diet, increased physical activity and nutritional counseling, weight loss medication has been shown to help patients with their weight loss goals.

Patients must be over the age of 18 and also meet one of the following Body Mass Index (BMI) requirements:

1- Have a BMI of 30 or greater 01

2- Have a BMI of 27 or more with at least one weight-related medical condition 02

If you meet the criteria, our clinical team will review your individual medical history to help determine which FDA-approved weight loss medication is best for you.

Nutrition Counseling

At Iriya Wellness & Aesthetics, instead of going on a diet, you’ll work with our registered dietitians to learn about changing your eating habits and behavior patterns to make positive choices that you can live with for the rest of your life. Nutrition counseling is the foundation of our medical weight loss program, and is available to everyone.

At your first appointment, you will meet with one of our registered dietitians who will get to know you as an individual, learn about your personal weight goals and review your current dietary habits.

Our RDs will devise a program that is unique to your needs and lifestyle. Our team evaluates your medical history, nutritional status, vitals and metabolic profile and then works with you to develop a whole-foods-based, nutrient-dense meal plan that won’t leave you feeling deprived.
Many of our patients like using meal replacements because they relieve them of some of the work of meal planning while still providing balanced nutrition and hunger control. Our dietitians evaluate the products currently on the market to recommend only the ones that promote safe and sustainable weight loss. Products are sold at each of our offices for your convenience and include meal replacement protein shakes, protein bars and snacks.
